It all depends on when it would be easiest for you to take it and make sure to temp before moving around much, drinking or going to the bathroom keep your thermometer close to your bed or under pillow so its in easy reach. I take mine at 8:30 every morning, if by chance I wake up early I adjust my temp accordingly..for every half hour early I wake up I add .1 degree...or if I oversleep I minus .1 degree from my temp. ex: I woke up at 6:00am this morning my temp was 98.0 well adding .1 for every half hour my temp was actually 98.5 hope I helped :)

They say to take it before you get up or even more around too much in bed after waking. So because i never really know what time i'm going to be getting up, i set my timer for 6am every morning, because i know i will definitely never get up earlier than 6am. What usually happens though is that i actually get up later, but i still take my temp at 6am when my alarm goes off, and then i just carry on snoozing again until whenever i wake up. I rather set my bbt taking time at the same time every day, since that is what they advise as well, otherwise you have to adjust your temps and I don't like doing that because it may not reflect your true temps, IMO.
