How soon can pregnancy be detected in a blood test? Can pregnancy be detected 8dpo?

I went to the doctor for a normal check up I told them my concern and they drew blood. Test came back negative but they gave me prenatals anyway. I have a pelvic exam They said my left overy was larger showing I had ovulated I ended up paling out and passed out cuz she kept pokin after I as it hurt. When comin to he said everything look normal as well so far I'm not preg. But was it to soon to tell ?
