Am I even ovulating yet?
As said in a previous question I was on depo for 6 years, had my first period in December 2011 almost a year after I came off. Haven't done my ovulation chart yet as don't even know if I am even ovulating - is it just a given if you have a period. Haven't tried any ovulation tests as read somewhere best way is to 'make love every few days for the best possible chance. My flow started on 17th for 3-4 days. So if I went by the norm I would have been ovulating around New Year's Eve. Does that mean I'm 4 days past ovulation???? And I'm meant to test on 14th???? But because of depo my periods might be sporadic e.g. started spooting on 5th december right round till 17th. So if my period doesn't arrive on 14th should I test or id there no chance I'm even pregnant. I've had very very slight nausea (but surely too early for that?) A achey, thing down in left lower abdomen and just realised my nipples hurt a tiny bit?? I'feel' different but is this wishful thinking!

Since your coming of birth control there's no telling what your cycles will be like. I suggest charting bbt and using opk's. There's really no way around that. Otherwise you're going at this blindly. You might as well use the tools that are available. Plus charting bbt is the only way you can confirm you are ovulating. If your periods are regular its probably safe to assume you are ovulating. But I'm not 100 % sure about that. I've read that even if you don't ovulate you will have at least light spotting or breakthrough bleeding. Your body still needs to shed the lining.
Your breakdown of the dates would be correct if you have a 28 day cycle. Most women don't. So you may have ovulated much later. Or even earlier. Hope this helps and I didn't just confuse you more!
