Starting injectibles tomorrow..kind of nervous!!
Hello Ladies! I am starting injectibles tomorrow to hopefully grow several mature follies for my upcoming IUI. Any one done injectibles with a trigger shot? I am kind of nervous as I have never given myself shots before.
What is the best spot? Belly or back of the thigh? any suggestions or advice?

Good luck my brother and his if just did the exact stuff and found out this morning that they are having twins! This was their first round too! Hope you have as good of luck as they did. I've been ttc #1 for 9 cycles and go back to fertility doc end of Jan I too hope to have the same luck! Keep me posted!

Definately do the tummy, in the fatty bits below and to the sides of your belly button. The needles are super thin and the hormones don't sting so you should be fine. It's kind of an exciting feeling to be taking absolute control of your ovulation in this way...it's like you're REALLY doing something to help! Sometimes I found just as I would try to push the needle in you'd have a real 'stingy' spot, if you get that and think you can't go through with pushing it in, it doesn't hurt (before you've really put the needle in) to re-site in slightly to a spot that feels a little less sensitive. You'll be an expert real soon. xo

They're not bad at all. The only thing that made me sore was the trigger shot afterwards - the injection site was sore for about 3-4 days afterwards. Also, I got cysts on my ovaries from the trigger shot. The doctor said it happens more often to smaller people like me. So I had to take the month off. We're back at the FSH injectibles and triggers next month if no BFP on January 10th... Good luck!!

I was completely nervous about my shots too! I found sitting down and doing them into the top of my thigh was the easiest for my peace of mind, my husband still cant watch! LOL, but they are really quick and once you get over the first intial shock of doing it to yourself it really is pretty simple. I have given myself the Ovidrel trigger shot in my stomach once, in the lower abdomen it wasn't so bad, but the thighs have been my place of choice. I will say I am glad its not summer time, cause I look all bruised up on my thighs!!!

I just did my first one last week - I was handed the pre filled needle and told to watch a utube video...uggg. Anyhoo it was super easy. I used an ice pack - sat on couch- numbed my chubby belly under and to the left of my belly button ....then took the needle lightly poked my belly til i didnt feel the poking sensation (nice and numb and no nerve endings maybe in that spot) and slowly put it in. Really no big deal. I did NOT do the darting as everyone told me to do. Good luck, u will be so proud once you've done it... hehehehe
